Today, I found a zany game/quiz generator called ZONDLE! It's connected to EDMONDO (another quiz/poll class online generator). You might wonder how I stumbled upon this funny sounding education site. My initial search was for student+teacher+created+educational+games+online. Several interesting opportunities popped up, but ZONDLE was my favorite. Registration was FREE! However, it is limited to 15 (topics) activities. Entering my class roster was fairly simple. I have 28 students, so I needed three pages of quick student registration pages. I'm always thankful for sites that give me control over log-in's and passwords. My students have so many sites on their plates. I try to make them as similar as possible. The entry path is especially important if students are going to use the site at home.
The format behind ZONDLE (click for site links) focuses on a list of teacher created questions called TOPICS. After the list is released to students, it can be viewed and played from the student log-in.
I placed a link to ZONDLE on my HOMEWORK page of my website. Student will log-in with user name and password. I can track their progress with reports.
The topics can be released as practice or as assessment (one time play only).
Students choose the game they want to play from the pictorial selections. Of course, alternates can be chosen at random.
I'm interested in using this site as a presentation tool for students. For instance, if students choose the WORDS THEIR WAY list, they could lead the class in practice sessions.
